I know 'cause I personally posted a lengthy warning about using steel brushes to clean grills. Fox posted the article about this latest warning being broadcast on TikTok. Neither the original video nor the Fox article clarified that flexible copper brushes are probably alright, it's just the rigid (cheap) steel brushes that are the danger.
Disgusting that it was posted on Tik Tok - Ihavenoname has a great derisive slang name for Tik Tok I can't !~$@## remember. They need one. Tik Tok sucks more even on the rare occasion when they do something that is NOT horribly, lethally, destructive.
They still need to be banned, just like DJT wanted to do years ago.

At least I won't be using it (never used it nor cared about it anyways). There's no cure for stupidity from heeding bad advice on CringeTok. It's also a waste of time.

TikTok is just another social media site, addressing the same audience as all the other social media sites.
Why is it more blameworthy?
Regards, Russ
Note: I have never used either.

Those sites are terrible in their own ways, but they achieve the same goal of instilling mental toxicity (at least how I see it). I'll stay far away from them for my own sanity.

Good military people are becoming increasingly concerned that the Xiden administration has no intention of acting to end this threat from Tik Tok. As far as I know Facebook, being a U.S company with servers here, does not have this issue. The issue of data diversion to foreign enemies is also emerging in purchases by U.S. and other Western-aligned companies of things like huge dock-cranes (such as those seen in the Spielberg/Tom Cruise remake of the movie War of the Worlds' opening sequence) which handle shipping containers at ports. The newer machines apparently now all have built-in computers which may easily (and undetectably) feed information to servers outside the country concerning shipping!!

I think Facebook (and Twitter) also sends data to the CCP. Even if their base of operations are in the US, they still can't be trusted anyways.

FBI (Wray*) testimony to Congressional investigation yesterday (as I understood it) was that data-flow algorithms created/applied by foreign entities pose a greater risk than those held by domestic entities. I don't know enough about the technical issues in directing data-flow to comment intelligently. Maybe we can get Russ et al with more I.T. knowledge of such things to weigh in.
* I don't trust Wray at all in regard to whether or not he will render accurate information in his testimony when giving opinions. That's because opinions are not facts, so one cannot be easily charged criminally for misleading/lying in the context of an opinion. But Wray probably is forced to give accurate information in regard to precise questions/answers of factual information not based on his own "opinions", or risk charges for lying to Congress.

I am a firm believer that disgusting destructive, stupid things/people do not deserve to be called by the things they prefer Along with CringeTok (it's unbelievable how stupid/evil/destructive the things are that they carry) I never refer to self-proclaimed "political progressives" as such. I always call them "regressives" (since invariably that is what they are). Anti-conservative fanatics (ACFs) is another term I like to use for Democrats. Even though there are some Democrats who are not dangerously insane (irrational) except when they vote for 'Crats who ARE dangerously insane, I can't help lumping them together under the general term 'Crats, (since they also often behave like vile, verminous, filthy rodents).

I think I see what you mean. Calling things (or someone) names are generally not nice, especially with Trump calling DeSantis a certain name (even if I still support Trump for president). I agree.
However, the contents displayed on the app are so vile that to temper my condemnation of it isn't possible anymore. Plus, using it will invade your privacy as well.
Unfortunately, YouTube copied some features of the app and called it YouTube Shorts, which is equally as annoying. Now the terrible influence is spreading! Yikes! Avoiding such thing is getting harder now.
But thankfully I have free will. I chose to spend time on better things instead of wasting my time on CringeTok (which I never used anyways).
