I think the words "SLAM," "BLAST," and "DESTROY" are overused in the headlines.

While I agree with anyone criticizing the Xiden administration and other things wrong with this world, I wonder if there is any need to sensationalize someone's views with these words.

Not everyone may agree with me, of course. But, I've seen this occur more frequently than usual.

...and what became known as "yellow journalism" which made him rich.

The above-term refers to exactly the sort of thing you are complaining about. Over the decades, sensationalism has supplanted substantive content in print/mass journalism. If it bleeds, it leads (as the main story). Attracting newspaper buyers (now attracting clicks) is the goal.

The term "yellow journalism" refers to the color of the paper used to print with - the idea being that a reputable newspaper uses paper that is whiter (more costly), while less-reputable newspapers buy inferior (cheaper) yellowish paper to print upon. That's not likely the case anymore but the slang pejorative term stuck.

Smarter people want objective, concise, reliable information in their news, bored people who are not deep thinkers prefer sensationalism because they seek to be entertained/distracted/jerked off (forgive me) not informed.

Coincidence today I read that the famous Hearst Los Angeles estate just sold at auction for north of $63 million. Not bad for a home that only has (11) bedrooms. Television mogul Aaron Spelling's Brentwood manse has I think, (20) bedrooms. It's a friggin hotel.

Hearst was a pig in pig's clothing. The only admirable thing about him and his work was his honesty about his own base motivations for doing what he did - to wit; making money. Hearst was not exactly an idealist.
