It's difficult not to make some stupid joke about something from an investigation of a sub disaster "leaking"...the info is supposedly legit but unconfirmed by investigators so far. 

My own take-away from the engineer's analysis of the transcript is stretching the limits of tolerance for the materials/machinery was the primary cause of the disaster. According to the engineer, the sub descended at a much higher rate (40% faster) than previous dives. The commissions' investigating it have not released anything yet. 

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that doing something like radically increasing the decent rate of a craft using an experimental design/materials is horribly, lethally dangerous. But the operators apparently couldn't figure that out, and it may have cost the crew and passengers their lives. 

If true, it calls into question the judgment of the owner and operators and could certainly open them up to litigation. Philosophically it presents an age-old quandary of knowing the difference between bravery and foolishness.
