In other words, going forward may tend to cause problems for Xiden and other senior-level 'Crats, so the DA may be getting pressure to back-off from them. 

There are reasons why nothing like this (lower court trying to arrest/try a former president on scant pretense) has ever been attempted before - political reality does not easily yield to ideology not even the fanatical anti-conservative type. 

The DA does not appear to be too smart, so he may be getting schooled by more-savvy hacks in the DNC who understand that, "there are bodies that need to stay buried".
