Years ago, the 'Crats chose to release thousands of dangerous prisoners (many of whom reoffended and hurt/murdered innocent people after release) because a financial crisis made it too expensive to keep the poisonous two-legged vermin locked up safely (Washington state, as most deathly blue states, has a severe shortage of prisons) so they just released them. The governor tried to deny it at first, then claimed (when caught) that it was a mistake - not deliberate. 

Nobody was ever punished for it, so naturally they will continue to do it until someone stops them through political means (elections matter).
