In 1985 I took over a company based in Atlanta, but which had only an accounting office there.  Its projects and other employees were scattered among several states.  It would have been easy to move the accounting functions to San Diego, where we lived.

I decided that I did not want to be an employer in California, so we moved to Atlanta.  Never regretted it -- not ever.
