...similar to how Nietzsche's writings often are. The words have always impressed me as being well-chosen (likely it was written with the help of Dwight's brother) and profound. Great ideas/words are routinely abused by dilettantes, fakirs, shills and various other cacogenic ignorami (sic). 

Debasing profundity with shallow, idiotic context reminds me of something from Vonnegut's, Sirens of Titan. In that story an ignorant dolt named Malachi Constant becomes a billionaire from sheer luck. He tries to buy DaVinci's Mona Lisa painting from the Louvre and they refuse. Enraged he retaliates by putting a cigarette in her mouth and putting the image on advertisements for cheap, generic cigarettes.
