Kerry Decides to Pick Muslim as Veep Running Mate
The Assorted Press April 24, 2004 (TAP) -- Sen. John Kerry, will pick a Muslim running mate. An aide to Sen. Kerry said he wants to demonstrate there is "room for everyone under the big tent of the Democrat party." Some liberal-Democratic political strategists hailed the news as a "master stroke of tolerance" which would ring in a new era of world peace and a renewed friendship with France. "We're already looking at a short list of popular Muslims," said Kerry campaign aide, Zeke N. Yeshallfind. "We're weeding out the ones who believe Christians are Infidel-devils, those Muslims who hate Jews, and those who believe suicide bombers are freedom fighters on their way to paradise, so naturally the list is getting short fast.
