New York Freed from Tyranny, protesters claim Bush Statue Toppled

September 4, 2004 (TAP) -- On the final day of the Republican Convention, protesters and Democrats in New York City streamed into the streets, filling the air with cheers and celebratory fireworks as a crowd toppled
a statue of the infamous tyrant George Bush.

The exuberant mob gave vent to the long suppressed hopes of a people who had suffered for almost four years without freedom under the iron fist of Mr. Bush and his ruthless enforcers Cheney, Ashcroft and Rumsfeld.

"I can now speak freely," said one protesting Democrat, Mr. Bob, through tears. "It is like a great darkness has been lifted from us."

The search now begins for the Republican torture chambers and mass graves which the Bush-Cheney regime kept full during their reign of terror. The hunt is also on for the two despots who were last seen entering Mayor Bloomberg's underground bunker at No. 527 Wall Street.

And while leaders in the jubilant crowd called for the immediate institution of an anarchy or at least a Kerry-Democrat ruled government, the Prime ministers of France and Germany and the U.N. Secretary-General, Kofi Annan urged caution.

"We would welcome the fall of these tyrants," said Mr. Annan, "but it is a well-known fact that the American people are not advanced or civilized enough like the French to rule themselves."

Editorial Note: We at the Assorted Press did not want to hurt our anarchist reporter, X. Benedict's feelings but the actual statue that the confused protesters tore down was that of Father Duffy in Times Square. Father Duffy was the World War I Chaplain of New York's fighting Irish 69th Regiment.
