Michael Moore Sues Al Franken for Infringement
By The Assorted Press
May 25, 2004 (TAP) – Michael Moore, film director and winner of the French (Cannes) best picture award, filed suit today against liberal talk show host, Al Franken for trademark infringement. Franken is the main radio host of the failing liberal talk show, Air America.
According to the lawsuit, "Michael Moore's 'hateful, bitter liberal' shtick is well established, and Mr. Franken has no right to confuse the American public by releasing his radio sniping, vitriolic attack on Conservative Republicans."
Mr. Franken's lawyer, well known California attorney, Eric (The Red) Kirk, issued this brief statement; "Al Franken was an openly-bitter liberal loud mouth before anyone had ever heard of Mr. Moore."
The 82-page court filing also claims that Mr. Franken's radio program "steals" Mr. Moore's thesis that conservatives are uniquely ignorant and dishonest.
